All three groups completed their respective flights this morning, deciding the first six quarter finalists. The repechage will begin shortly to decide the remaining two spots for the quarter finals.

The repechage includes a lot of the well established teams who have exceptional records so bets are on it will be a hum dinger. It includes last year’s finalists Ben Ainslie and Adam Minoprio so look for them to take charge.

First up for us today was fellow Kiwi and World No. 1 Adam Minoprio and his Blackmatch team. Adam managed to get the better of us at the start, forcing us to follow him across the line. They then managed to control the match well to hand us our first loss. In our only other match for the day we notched another win against local Bermudian Lance Fraser.
There are three teams tied for the lead in group 2 with Black Sheep on even points with Blackmatch and Eric Monnin from Switzerland. The top four are decided in this pool, but there is still everything to play for tomorrow as the top two will progress...

Black Sheep has had a short break in recent weeks since competing in the Hahn River International Match Race. In this time there has been a new release of ISAF Match race rankings. This saw us move up four places from 18th to 14th.
The last few days we spent in New York, preparing for our next regatta, The Argo Group Bermuda Gold Cup. The boats that we will be sailing in Bermuda are the International One Design (IOD), they are very different to the type of boats we usually sail. The IOD is a classic style yacht originally designed in 1936. This training has been very useful...

The race committee tried to get racing underway but with a dying breeze and relentless current it was all to no avail. Authorities were quick to ban all sailing on the river again so that was the regatta. With five flights remaining to complete the round robin, the results were determined by your win percentage. Our team was unbeaten, the Australians lost one followed by the top Korean team with two losses. We are happy with the win but disappointed we couldn't at least finish the round robin.
With the cancelling of yesterdays racing a bus load of sailors ventured up to the border of North Korea...
